Program Description

Many young children at this age just start exploring stories in picture books and learning to read. This does not preclude them to enjoy a great story! From Dr Seuss, Julia Donaldson, Mem Fox, Eric Carle... there are so many wonderful books and stories to inspire their creative minds! Book clubs create space for children to talk, ask questions, and interact with peers on a level that other reading groups in school or at home often can’t. These discussions are facilitated by NPE Learning Facilitator and presented in a way that is accessible for children and gives them the space to uncover the story independently and as a team. About the Book Club Learning Facilitator: Cassie is an experienced writer and artist, and professionally has worked for a number of years as a creative workshop facilitator. Her favourite part of any creative pursuit is character creation and weaving intricate, rich fantasy worlds. She is both an avid reader and writer of stories and is passionate about creative literature and the infinite possibilities that surround it. She loves working with young people in encouraging their imaginations to bloom and building their confidence in creative problem-solving within their stories. She believes strongly that learning should be fun and accessible for all, and enjoys employing versatile and educational creative methods when it comes to teaching. She hopes to foster the love of storytelling in young people and create a new generation of readers, writers and creators.
